Bakersfield Police are on scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. at Union Avenue and 18th Street.
The pedestrian reportedly has moderate injuries.
Officers said the pedestrian was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck.
Officers temporarily blocked westbound lanes of Union Avenue at 18th Street while they investigated.
