BPD: 66-year-old man arrested in fatal stabbing at gas station in Central Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police investigated a homicide at a gas station in Central Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon.

According to officers, a man was found deceased just after 2 p.m. with apparent stab wounds. After further investigation, BPD found that the victim was involved in a fight with the suspect, 66-year-old James Jordan.

Jordan turned himself in to Bakersfield Police and was arrested for homicide.

According to court records, Jordan was booked into jail on first degree murder charges and is scheduled to be in court on Friday, May 17.

The identity of the victim will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner.
