The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in southwest Bakersfield.

Officers responded just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday to the 500 block of Real Road, near California Avenue and Real Road. 

Officers said a woman was walking across the street, not in a crosswalk, when she was struck by the vehicle. 

The woman was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers. 

Officials said drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors in this incident. 

A portion of Real Road has been shut down due to the crash, but officials said it should reopen soon.
