Bakersfield Police looking for auto-theft, hit and run suspect

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — BPD is asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in regards to an auto theft and hit-and-run investigation in Central Bakersfield.

According to officials, on May 1 around 2:10 p.m., the suspect was occupying a stolen vehicle when he collided with another vehicle in the 2300 block of California Avenue.

BPD says before the suspect fled from the scene, the driver of the other vehicle was able to take a picture of him.

The suspect is being described as a Hispanic Male, 35 to 40 years old, around 5’6” to 5’8”, 170 pounds, short black hair, brown eyes. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark blue polo with dark jeans, and blue Nike shoes.
