The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and finding three men wanted for an assault on a man in central Bakersfield earlier this month that resulted in his death.

On Nov. 4, BPD said the suspects, described as three Hispanic men, assaulted Isaac Matthew Ortiz on the 200 block of Truxtun Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

Ortiz, 30, was taken to Kern Medical for his injuries from the assault. But police said his condition worsened and he died eight days later on Nov. 12.

Police are looking for three suspects who are described as:

  • Suspect 1 - Hispanic male, late 20's, medium build, short black hair, wearing a dark colored T-shirt with writing on the front, blue jeans and riding a mountain style bicycle.
  • Suspect 2 - Hispanic male, mid to late 20's, medium build, shaved head, goatee, with a possible tattoo under his right eye, wearing a light colored shirt and light colored shorts.
  • Suspect 3 - Hispanic male, early to late 20's, medium build, long dark hair tied in a pony tail, wearing a light colored hooded sweater, dark shorts, light colored backpack with colored trim.

Anyone with information about this investigation or the identity of the suspects is asked to call Detective Fred Torres at 661-326-3273 or the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
