Bakersfield Police Officer involved in vehicle versus pedestrian crash in southwest Bakersfield

A vehicle versus pedestrian crash involving a Bakersfield Police officer has sent one man to the hospital with moderate injuries. 

Officials said around 2:45 a.m. Saturday a BPD officer was driving in a marked patrol vehicle near Ming Avenue and Ashe Road when he struck the man. 

The man suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical where he's listed in stable condition. 

Police said the man was walking outside of the crosswalk at the time of the incident.
