BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department has confirmed that a sergeant has been charged with two misdemeanors following a DUI incident in October.
Officials said on October 5 around 1 p.m., Sergeant Jeff Saso, who was off duty, crashed his motorcycle into the center median near the 3500 block of Rosedale Highway.
Saso was traveling westbound, lost control, and struck the center median, a BPD press release said.
Saso reportedly sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Officials also said a passenger riding with Saso sustained minor visible injuries and refused medical aid.
According to court records, Saso has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury and Driving under the influence .08 alcohol with bodily injury.
