Bakersfield Police to conduct DUI and driver's license checkpoint on Saturday

Police will be cracking down on impaired drivers and improper licensing this weekend as BPD is holding a DUI and drivers license checkpoint on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday morning. 

The checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location within the city. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and drug impairments. They will also be checking drivers for proper licensing.

Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that could exceed $10,000.
