A local non-profit is being recognized for its long-term commitment, leadership, and its services to the community.

Senate Republican leader Shannon Grove announced the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center as the non-profit of the year for California's Senate District 16. The Pregnancy Center has served Kern County for 35 years, serving over 40,000 clients.

The non-profit says they are honored for the recognition.

And 23ABC is teaming up with Hall Ambulance to distribute baby supplies to those who need them most through the 2nd Annual Bakersfield Baby Shower. If you want to donate you can bring diapers, wipes, bottles, cribs, car seats and so much more to our drive-thru event. It's happening on November 19th at the 23ABC Studios located at 321 21st Street.

If you can't make it out then feel free to donate your items to the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center and the Mission at Kern County.
