Christmas came early for star wars fans. Bakersfield residents got to see "The Force Awakens" first showing at Maya Cinemas.
Star Wars fans lined up for hours early Thursday just to be some of the first people to watch the movie.
The first showing at Maya started at 7 p.m. 23ABC caught up with some of the first fans to ask what they thought about the movie.
"It was actually really good," said Chris Dickey.
"I think it was better than most people thought it was going to come out to be since it was being made by Disney in this one and they were throwing out everything that they did, it worked out very well," said Riley Dickey.
Andre Poteet said, "Best movie of the year so far!" While Jose Andrade agreed. He said, "I wasn't much of a Star Wars fan but it was an amazing movie. Best of the year for sure."
"My God! It was breath-taking. I loved every second it it. Just the fight scenes, the drama, just everything about it. It was beautiful," said Krislene Pilking.
And if you're thinking about catching the flick, be aware that theaters around the county have rules for the showing. Both Maya and Edward Cinemas no masks, face paint or light sabers are allowed.
