Bakersfield residents react to Bakersfield's first marathon

The first Bakersfield Marathon has come and gone. 

Leaving residents to think about how it all went and what can be done better next time. 

23ABC News spoke with many Westchester residents, which had its streets closed for most of Sunday morning due to blockades. 

Residents expressed different emotions in regard to the logistics of the marathon. But they could all agree it was great to have it in the city, whether they were a part of it or not. 

Some of the problems people had was not being able to exit their homes in their cars. Many of them having to change their plans for Sunday morning. 

Others say they did not receive enough notice about the event, while some residents said they received notice in the mail and almost threw it in the trash along with other election-related materials. 

The next marathon in Bakersfield is set for November 12. Registration will open on April 1.
