BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KERO) — After nearly a week of Donald Trump's second impeachment trial, the former president has been officially found not guilty of inciting the deadly January 6 insurrection.

It was a busy Saturday filled with twists and turns, ended with lawmakers voting 57-43 against the insurrection charge. 67 were required for a conviction.

This is the second time he was acquitted in the senate. This weekend, 23ABC’s Lezla Gooden caught up with local leaders to hear their thoughts about trumps acquittal.
