A Bakersfield roller derby team won their second national championship in as many years in Philadelphia on Sunday.

The Diamond City Minors, an amateur derby team in the 7-17 age bracket, took home the national title at the Junior Roller Derby Association championships for their division. The team went back-to-back after taking the title in 2017 as well.

They won their final game by a score of 230-188 after winning the first two games by scores of 367-126 and 191-128, respectively.

23 ABC told you about the team before they left and how they've been playing in memory of a teammate, Jaidyn Estrada, a 12-year-old who died by suicide in 2016. They also skated in memory of teammate Carson Serpa's father, who died after a battle with cancer in 2018.

The team wore a leg band in memory of Jaidyn and a sticker on their helmet in honor of Carson's dad all season.
