Bakersfield SPCA received a grant for $60,000 from PetSmart Charities Thursday to help spay and neuter feral and community cats within the City of Bakersfield.

The grant will fund spay and neuter surgeries for 833 unowned cats through Critters Without Litters to reduce shelter intake at The City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center.

The program will help spay and neuter unowned cats and return them to the community.
