In the midst of its current season, the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra is set to take on a heroic challenge.

On April 1, BSO will be taking on "Heroes and Villains".

The orchestra will be playing at the Fox Theater and will perform pieces from movie scores that feature some of the best and worst characters.

Straying from the usual classical pieces, the show is meant to provide an all-inclusive, immersive dip into orchestra, while having some fun with familiar favorites.

Music that will be featured include pieces from: "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Batman: The Dark Knight," "James Bond," "Lord of the Rings," "Rocky," "The Avengers" and more.

Tickets are not being sold online. Tickets can be purchased at the Fox Theater box office or the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra offices at 1328 34th Street, Suite A or by calling BSO offices at 323-7928.

The show starts at 7 p.m.
