A local veteran featured in film. Premiere of National Geographic's "The Long Road Home"
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Eddie Gonzales, a local Bakersfield veterans experienced in Iraq is being featured in a National Geographic film.
He was 20-years-old when he was station in Forthood, Texas before being send off to Texas.
It was suppose to be a peacemaking mission and that all changed after five days in being in Iraq.
April 4, 2004 was the day they got ambushed and several men lost their lives. It later became known as Black Sunday.
