Based on numerous tips received from community members, the female suspect in an identity theft scam was identified as Diana Messerschmidt, 45, of Bakersfield.

Messerschmidt was subsequently located, interviewed and arrested. She has been booked on charges of burglary, identity theft, false personation and receiving stolen property.

The male previously mentioned was identified and eliminated as a suspect.
