BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield's youngest city councilmember, Willie Rivera, confirmed to 23ABC he isn't quite ready to give up his seat just yet.
Rivera said he will seek re-election for the seat in next November's election. Rivera represents Ward 1 in Southeast Bakersfield after replacing Rudy Salas in a special election in 2013.
The councilmember also serves as the chair of the budget and finance committee as well as several other committees.
Rivera is the youngest person to have ever served on the city council.
