BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Earlier this week Kern County moved into the Red Tier in the state's COVID-19 tier system. That means schools now have the option to reopen for in-class instruction. On Thursday Bakersfield Christian announced students will return later this month.

Bakersfield Christian High School announced on Thursday that in-class instruction will begin n Oct. 28, with a normal bell schedule being following and certain health and safety measures in place. Safety measures include close monitoring of student's temperatures, social distancing, and required face masks.

For students wanting to continue digital instructions, that will continue to be an option.

BCHS President John Buetow explains what students and parents can expect.
