BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Memorial Stadium at Bakersfield College is currently undergoing an estimated $12.5 million face-lift.
According to BC's website, the renovations will be split into two phases.
Phase one broke ground last week and is expected to last through August of this year. During this time, the stadium's artificial turf on the track will be replaced.
Phase two is expected to begin in January 2020, and will include renovations to the restrooms, concession stands and the press box. The college says the stadium will also get a new score board, PA system, and field lighting.
On Monday we broke ground on Phase 1 of the Memorial Stadium project, which will replace and renovate the stadium's field and turf. We can't wait to share the finished product with our community! #WeAreBC #ABetterBC #BakersfieldCollege #KCCDMeasureJ pic.twitter.com/nsXWNdvQu4
