The Bakersfield City School District is celebrating the grand opening of their new location for the Migrant Education Program, which aims to promote college and career readiness for students from migrant families.
The grand opening will be held at on Monday Dec. 18th starting at 10 a.m. The Migrant Education Program is located at 1121 Baker Street.The Migrant Education Program works to ensure migrant children are provided with the appropriate opportunities to meet state academic content as well as achievement standards.
The program also helps migrant children overcome cultural and language barriers, social isolation, health-related problems, educational disruption, and other factors that could deter a child from doing well in school.
