The Bakersfield City School District is holding an information session to recruit future educators.
The information session will be held inside their education center board room at 5:30 p.m and 6 p.m. Tuesday. People will learn about the substitute teaching opportunities within the district.
The BCSD says being a substitute teacher could lead to a permanent teaching position in the district.
BCSD says the pay rates are as follows:
Elementary Substitute: $115 per day
Jr. High/Middle School Substitute: $135 per day
Special Education: $130-$150 per day
Long-Term Substitute Teacher: $200 per day Retired Teacher w/ Credential: $130-$150 per day
The sessions will be held at the BCSD Education Board Room located at 1300 Baker Street.
