====================================

A local middle school teacher’s aide, accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old, is set to appear in court today.

Edward Gonzalez reportedly worked at Sierra Middle School in East Bakersfield as a teacher’s aide.

It was there that he met a student years ago. Over the weekend, he allegedly sexually assaulted that student.

The student, a teenage boy, allegedly met Gonzalez at a party on Friday night. After the party, investigators say the boy then ended up at Gonzalez’s home in East Bakersfield.

The victim was able to get of Gonzalez’s home and run back to his home. That’s when his mother called the police.

Gonzalez is facing 8 charges, including 7 felony charges. He is set to be in court today for his arraignment. His bail is set at over $175,000.
