A teacher aide within the Bakersfield City School District was arrested Saturday for allegedly sexual assaulting a 15 year old male victim.

Edward Alfred Gonzalez, 25, was arrested on charges of oral copulation, sodomy, false imprisonment with violence, and lewd acts.

Gonzalez had met a juvenile acquaintance at a party in the Bakersfield area the night prior. The victim went with Gonzalez to his home, where the sexual assault took place.

After the assault, the victim fled the residence and police were called. The victim was physically uninjured.

The suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.

The victim was not a student within BCSD at the time of the assault, but went to the school Gonzalez worked at before. Gonzalez has been with the district at Sierra Middle School since 2013.

He is currently not allowed on any district campus while officials work to figure out his punishment.

His bail has been set at $177,500.
