BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield City School District is making the final decision regarding summer school for this year.

The district has said they plan to offer 16 days of summer school at four school in the district-- Casa Loma Elementary, Longfellow, Stella Hilla, and Emerson Middle School.

Initially, the district planned to cut the program all together. Officials say the funds that normally go towards summer school will instead be used to launch other programs across 43 campuses.

Today's meeting is open to the public and will be held at the BCSD Board Room at 1300 Baker Street at 6 p.m.
