Have any old furniture or appliances that you need to dispose of? You're in luck! This Saturday, October 28, 2017 Kern County Public Works Department will be hosting a Bulky Waste Collection Event in which residents living in the Metro-Bakersfield area with bulky items can stop by and dispose of them.
There will be three drop-off locations, all open form 8 a.m. to noon. The first drop-off location will be at Meadows Field International Terminal located at 1401 Skyway Dr. (Off Airport Dr. and Skyway Dr.)
The second drop-off location for bulky waste will be at the Kern County Fair, which is located on 1142 South P Street (East Belle Terrace and South P).
The third and final location for the bulky waste drop-off will be at Kern Medical located on 1700 Mount Vernon Ave (near Flower Street parking lot).
One of the main goals of the program and one-day bulky waste drop-off event is to help eliminate illegal dumping sites.
Organizers for the event ask that if you're transporting your bulky waste to the drop-off please make sure you tarp or secure your load before transporting your waste to one of these three location.
