BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Fire Department is reminding residents to report illegal fireworks in alternate ways to 9-1-1, to keep the reporting system open to emergencies.

Fireworks can only be set off on specific days and times.

Residents can report illegal fireworks through the city's website or downloading and using the Bakersfield Mobile App. It is available through Google Play or the Apple Store.

Communities within city limits can report illegal fireworks through the BFD's non-emergency lines by calling 661-324-6551 or 661-324-4542.

Residents can learn when it's legal to use fireworks in their city by visiting youlightitwewriteit.com.
