Fireworks can only be set off on specific days and times. Currently, fireworks are illegal within the city limits.

In a statement released Tuesday, the BFD said that "all fireworks are illegal at this time. There has been an increase in illegal fireworks activity, and the BFD has established teams of unmarked vehicles and fire engine companies to issue citations in the amount of $1,000 to those who violate fireworks laws."

People who wish to report illegal fireworks, can call (661) 324-6551 or (661) 324-4542.
