The Sherpa Fire in Santa Barbara County has now grown to 1,100 acres.
The blaze started in the Sherpa Ranch area Wednesday afternoon.
Fire officials say wind in the area and high heat has helped fuel the blaze.
Bakersfield Fire officials confirm that one firefighter has been sent to help with the blaze.
Kern County Fire and BFD officials say they're waiting to hear if they will be needed to send additional help.
