A team of students from Bakersfield High School took first place in a nationwide business competition in New York City.
BHS' virtual enterprise business plan team beat out 550 other business plans from teams across the country to claim the top spot.
The group competed in the final rounds of the Virtual Enterprise International Competition with their business plan that included fighting local food waste by using produce deemed "imperfect" to craft quality juices.
