BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A bicyclist is dead after colliding with a truck in Northeast Bakersfield Saturday morning.

It happened around 9:25 a.m. on Alfred Harrell Highway near China Grade Loop, according to CHP.

Officers said the truck and a bicyclist were traveling westbound on Alfred Harrell Highway, and as they approached the intersection, the rider was hit.

The person was taken to the hospital where they later died.
