California Highway Patrol officials said a motorcyclist was killed Friday morning on Norris Road near Cope's Notty Pine Cafe.
According to California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was 81-year-old Jerry Ward of Bakersfield.
The crash happened at about 7 a.m. when a white truck collided with a motorcyclist. According to CHP, the driver of the Ford truck was 57-year-old Michael Dougan.
The Kern County coroner was called out at about 7:20 a.m.
