A crash involving big rigs snarled traffic on southbound Highway 99 Monday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol dispatchers reported the crash just after 2:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Herring Road, just south of Bakersfield.
Google Maps showed traffic at a halt on the freeway in southbound lanes between Herring Road and Sandrini Road.
