A bill authored by Assemblymember Rudy Salas to improve timely and accurate diagnosis of Valley Fever was approved by the Assembly with unanimous support. 

The bill was approved on Thursday, May 17th. 

Assembly Bill 1790 will create protocols and guidelines for educating healthcare providers not only about the diagnosis but also about the treatment and surveillance of Valley Fever. 

The bill would also require local health officers to develop and make available the protocols and guideline to physicians by July 1, 2019.
