BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The Bird scooter is flying back into Bakersfield.

Joe Conroy with the City of Bakersfield confirmed with 23ABC that the Santa Monica-based company has been issued an Encroachment Permit by the City, allowing the company to operate within the City limits for one year.

It is still unclear when exactly the company with officially relaunch operations within the city.

Bird's short-lived appearance began in December 2018, and just as quickly as they came, they migrated out of Bakersfield in April 2019.

The motorized scooters can be found in over 100 cities worldwide.
