BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Blessing Corner Ministry in central Bakersfield is asking the community for help after they say a hail storm flooded their main sanctuary on December 8th. They say the storm clogged the buildings rain gutters which caused water to backup and pour into the sanctuary. The water damaged the ceiling and floor.

The local ministry has held it's annual Christmas Extravaganzaon Christmas day for the last 19 years. During the event they open their doors to those in need on the holiday and provide dinner to the homeless, veterans and local families. They are asking for the community's help while they wait for insurance to make repairs to the damage. They also need help with gift wrapping and preparing care packages.

The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m on Christmas Day and will end around 2:30 p.m. There will also be music, toys and gift items. Blessing Corner is located on 101 Union Avenue.
