BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — Blessing Corner Ministries is continuing to help those in need. Sunday afternoon they gave out common supplies like toiletries to people on Union Avenue.

The organization also served food and organizers say they estimate thousands of families across Kern County attended the event.

Bakersfield City Council member Eric Arias also volunteered and talked of the partnership with the ministry: "We continue to partner on these types of events and we know that during COVID-19 during the pandemic during the government shutdown that there's been a lot of need an increased need in our community and this is just one of the many ways we've been able to give back to the community and make sure that families have what they need so they can put food on the table."

Blessing Corner Ministries has held these events many times. The next event date has yet to be confirmed.
