Today is the last day to take part in the "week of remembrance blood drive" hosted by the Houchin Community Blood bank.

All donors are encouraged to donate a pint of blood, or other needed blood products, in honor of our first responders. Donations can be made at the Bakersfield donation centers on Truxtun Avenue and Bolthouse Drive.

There will also be two mobile drives at the Kern County training facility and Bakersfield Fire department's 9/11 memorial.
