The Board of Supervisors proclaimed November 27-December 11, 2017 as the 30th Anniversary Holiday Cottage Days in Kern County.
The Holiday Cottage is a place where members of the public can give back to children in the foster care system during the holidays.
On November 14, 2017 the Holiday Cottage will be opening up one of their satellite locations, located on the fifth floor of the County Administrative Building allowing those who want to get an early start on their Christmas shopping to access children's wishes before the main Holiday Cottage opens.
The main Holiday Cottage, located on Calloway Drive and Rosedale Highway, will open its doors on November 27, 2017.
This year, 1,000 children are hoping to get their gift wishes granted through the Holiday Cottage. There are 2,000 children total in the foster care system in Kern County.
