BAKERSFIED, Calif. — The City Board of Zoning Adjustment has voted to not move forward on a conditional use of permit for a proposed student housing project in Southwest Bakersfield.

The project was set to be constructed on the Northeast Corner of Stockdale Highway and Coffee Road. It would have been available as student housing less than a mile away from CSUB.

Last week, after public concern, the City Planning Division recommended the Board of Zoning to not approve the permit.

The developer behind the proposed project can appeal the decision.
