LOST HILLS, Calif. — The Kern County coroner says the body found in a canal off Highway 46 and Main Drain Road on June 1 at around midnight was 57-year-old Juan Vasquez.

Officials say that Vasquez fell into the canal while fishing. He died at the scene.

A postmortem examination was conducted and Vasquez's cause of death was drowning and the manner was an accident.
