Detectives are investigating a suspicious death after a hiker found what was believed to be human remains in the area of Claymine Road, north of Highway 58 in North Edwards Tuesday.
Kern County deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the remains to be human. They were in an advanced stage of decomposition and had been partially buried.
The remains appear to be of an adult male, but the age, race and identity are still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
