BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) — The bomb squad was called out just before midnight Monday night at Aera Park on Jewetta Avenue for a suspicious object in the roadway.

The item was described as a large white box with red wires protruding from the box and so the bomb squad was called in. Hours later police rendered it safe before removing it.

All roadways in the area have now been reopened.
