BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Friday night the bomb squad was called out for a suspicious object on the railroad in Southwest Bakersfield according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Officials responded to a railroad property near Old River Road for a suspicious object.
BPD confirmed the object was determined to be suspicious and as a result the bomb squad responded to the area.
According to police the incident required temporary closure of southbound Old River Road and some residents were asked to shelter in place.
However, further investigation revealed the object was not a destructive device.
