The third annual Boots and Brews Country Music Festival will be held Saturday in honor of fallen Bakersfield police officer David Nelson.

The concert will take place at 1933 Event Center on May 19 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will feature live music from local country artist Josh Aigner, Lauren Victoria and Vince Galindo, as well as raffle prizes and line dancing.

Officer Nelson was killed in the line of duty on June 26, 2015 in a vehicle crash following a high-speed pursuit in northeast Bakersfield. This will be the first Boots and Brews event held since the man convicted in Nelson's death was sentenced.

All proceeds raised at the event will go to the Officer David Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund, with the goal of raising $75,000.

The event is free and open to the public.
