Bakersfield Police officials said one person was hurt and another person is on the run in a hit-and-run crash that occurred early Thursday morning on Monitor St.
Officials said at 1:17 a.m. they responded to the 5200 block of Monitor Street regarding a person down in the roadway, and a possible victim of hit and run.
When BPD officers arrived to the scene, they found a man unresponsive in the northbound lane, suffering from major injuries.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
BPD officials discovered that the man was struck by an unknown vehicle, which fled prior to police arrival.
