BPD: 15 DUI arrests made during Memorial Day weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Millions of people hit the road for Memorial Day Weekend and to keep the roads safe Bakersfield Police held a maximum enforcement period to crack down on drunk and distracted drivers.

The department says they made 15 DUI arrests over the holiday weekend.

BPD says there were also six reported DUI-related crashes during that period.

CHP also released its stats for the holiday weekend and said 34 people died in crashes across the state during the MEP period and half of those were not wearing seat belts.
