Bakersfield Police say they detained nearly a dozen people Sunday night and Monday morning following another night of protests in Downtown Bakersfield.

BPD says nine people were arrested and face a handful of charges including assault with a deadly weapon, resisting and obstructing officers and unlawful assembly.

Police say some of the protesters threw rocks at officers, leading to the assault with a deadly weapon charges.

Police say two juveniles were also detained and later released to their parents.
