BPD arrest 3 for stolen property charges

Bakersfield Police officials said that three people were arrested for stolen property charges on Mezzadro Avenue on Tuesday.

BPD officials said at around 4:45 p.m., officers were sent  to the Department of Motor Vehicles located in thw 3200 block of  F St. regarding a subject attempting to register a stolen trailer.

The investigation led BPD officers to the 12700 block of Mezzadro Avenue where they located several stolen items from both city and county investigations.

While BPD officers were at that residence, 36-year-old year Francine Gaitan and

38-year-old Margarito Orozco, arrived in a vehicle.

A search of their vehicle revealed approximately 22 grams of heroin and approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine. 

Both Gaitan and Orozco were arrested and booked for various drug charges.

BPD Detectives responded and assumed the investigation, which led to several search warrants being written and served at various locations throughoutBakersfield.

During the searches, Detectives located several stolen vehicles and stolen property to include high value industrial equipment, all having a value estimated to be in excess of $100,000. 

BPD officials added that all of the identifiable loss was returned to the appropriate business and property owners.

Officers then arrested 37-year-old Michael Aguilar.

Aguilar  was booked for receiving stolen property, burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and child endangerment.

Aguilar was not charged with any crimes related to the drugs found with Gaitan and Orozco.
