Bakersfield Police made two arrests Sunday night in connection with two separate shootings.

BPD says there was a shooting in the 100 block of Madison Street and another shooting in the 1900 block of California Avenue.

On the 100 block of Madison St, as BPD engaged the suspect, he discarded his bicycle and fled from the officers on foot. As officers gave chase, the man discarded a loaded firearm. Officers recovered the firearm and arrested the subject, Martin Anthony Ramos, 37, for gun, narcotics, and gang related charges.

Police say no one was hit and neither was related.

Two people were arrested and each face gun and gang charges.
